AboutFace is run by Dawn Cuthbertson, who has been a face painter since becoming involved as a nursery volunteer after the birth of her son. She has been fortunate enough to be able to learn from, and work with, some of the best face painters in Scotland, and after a time spent in practicing techniques, working as a volunteer for charity, and painting anyone who sat still long enough, has been working as a professional face painter since 2005. Dawn is a member of FACE, The Face Painting Association, a UK based international body which promotes the highest standards of quality and professionalism in face painting worldwide. She is also a member of EQUITY, the performing artists union, and is an assistant to her magician husband.
